Have bunch of beauty shots of the CX500 next to the Vulcan.
So I got the water pump fixed. It was missing a washer.
Yay. With that fixed I went for a ride to get some gas and realized very quickly that cafe racers are incredibly uncomfortable. In an effort to minimize this I decided to move the CX500s unconventional controls a bit rearward from their usual UJM mid position.
Definitely seems a bit less back-achey. Need to get some turn signals and a brake light figured out and this should be 99% of the way there.

The bikes are cool and all, but let’s talk about the Syclone.

Why must we always talk about the Syclone.
Damn thing needs a tune up anyways.

Do these become a his and hers set of bikes?

Realistically, I know that a S yclone is still a ‘90's GM product and, despite it s many virtues, is probably terrible most of the time. But I can’t help but thinking that they’d be awesome to rip down a backroad.
I just looked at your prior post about the bike; I’m not a motorcycle guy, but that thing looks awesome. I remember it getting stolen, but what did the thieves do to it that you had to fix?

Syclones are, essentially, a 4x4 4.3 liter V6 S10 that have been lowered and fitted with a liquid-intercooled turbocharger and an AWD transfer case. Much like other factory forced induction GM products (Buick GNX, anything with a supercharged 3800) they were hilariously under-rated power-wise from the factory and I believe run low 12s in the quarter out of the box.
The bike was stolen and the engine thoroughly trashed. Rods spun completely. Chunks of metal all through the engine. The wiring was trashed, the locks were all broken off, the tank was dented, and the side covers were missing. I’ve been piecing it back together with a new 9,000 mile engine and modify it into a 1940s style cafe racer.

Briefly. The Kawasaki will get sold here eventually.

As I recall, the Syclone beat a Ferrari 328 in a Road and Track shootout. I also have a want for a Grand National, but both it and Syclone are well out of my budget.
The cafe racer style on the bike looks awesome. I agree with whoever said you should get a rear fender though.
